Jason Carroll on "who was Michael Brown"

Reporting from the ground in Ferguson, Missouri, CNN's Jason Carroll profiles 18-year-old Michael Brown, the young man shot and killed by a local police officer nearly a week ago.

In his story, Carroll presents two distinct and opposing descriptions.

In one case, friends and family members describe the teen they knew as "Big Mike" to be a gentle giant, someone whose large build was matched only by an even bigger heart.

However, surveillance video from a nearby convenience store depicts Brown as an aggressive petty thief, one who shoplifted a package of cigars on the morning of his death.

For a balanced look at the teen that was Michael Brown, watch Carroll's report above.

"I think Jerry was found guilty before he ever went to trial" – Dottie Sandusky to Jason Carroll

Almost exactly two years since Jerry Sandusky was found guilty on 45 counts of sexual abuse of young boys, CNN's Jason Carroll sits down with Dottie Sandusky for a face to face interview.

Having been married to the former Penn State assistant football coach for 37 years, Dottie Sandusky remains unwavering in her support of her husband, telling Carroll "he's always been truthful to me."

"I know who he is, I know he is," says Sandusky, insisting she never once suspected her husband of any improper behavior.

According to Dottie Sandusky, the 70-year-old man is in a cell 23 hours per day, Monday through Friday, and 24 hours per day on the weekend. "I try to cheer him up," she says of the couple's visits, "but usually he cheers me up instead of me cheering him up."
