To some former NSA contractor Edward Snowden is a criminal, a traitor, a fugitive from the law. But to others, Snowden is nothing short of a hero and a courageous whistleblower. Now, he has been honored by a group of former U.S. intelligence officers. They gave him the 'Sam Adams Associates for Integrity in Intelligence' award, named for a late CIA analyst. Former CIA analyst Ray McGovern was there and met with Snowden. Anderson spoke with McGovern on the phone.

Edward Snowden is no longer living in the transit area of Moscow's airport. Russia granted the NSA leakertemporary asylum, allowing him to work and live in Russia for one year. The White House said it did not have advance notice about the decision. Snowden's father said the decision also took him by surprise.
