GM crash survivor exonerated

Candice Anderson spent years believing that she was responsible for her boyfriend’s death. He was killed when her car crashed into a tree back in 2004. Ms. Anderson ended up pleading guilty to criminal negligent homicide, making her a convicted felon. This year, GM recalled her car along with millions of other vehicles for an ignition switch defect. It came out that GM had known about the defect when Ms. Anderson was pleading guilty, but didn’t tell her. Now a Texas court overturned her conviction and her record was cleared. Poppy Harlow has the update.

It would be wise of GM to a) apologize formally along with a promise to be transparent and forthcoming about significant problems; b) to offer a significant settlement ahead of filing a law suit.

In other words, she sold out.

Who sold out? Anderson caved in as do many who are interrogated.
