After five days of chaos and violence prompted by the death of unarmed black teen Michael Brown, Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has decided to put the Missouri State Highway Patrol in charge of security in Ferguson. Missouri Highway Patrol Capt. Ron Johnson was tapped for the job and at a press conference earlier Thursday, he promised to pursue a fresh approach in dealing with protesters. CNN's Jake Tapper caught up with Capt. Johnson and talked about how he will bridge the current divide between the police and the community.

Mr Cooper, this situation is really about police across the nation abusing power. Even if this young man was charging and physically a threat to the officer, people are taking the opportunity to stand up to police in general. In our county of Stafford VA two unarmed white men were killed by the police in two different cases. One older man was unarmed and shot in the back by the police. A neighbor even testified that the man turned and was walking into his house when the police shot him in the. back and killed him. The police where at the house for increase noise. The other death eas an 18 yrold who took his mom's car and abandoned the car wrecked on a country road. The police ranthe tags and ended up at his house. Two different police departments arrived at the house. When the 18 yr old did not. answer the door the Stafford police entered the house and the kid was shot dead. People are frustrated over the abuse of power and extreme actions by. the police. In both cases the police were found to have done nothing wrong. This is not a race issue, this is a police brutality issue that many people face across the country. White people don't tend to riot so it doesn't! become news. If you want to. be ahead of your time, maybe you should ask the questions that address the many deaths across this country by police that did not result in news coverage. if you look into the Stafford county police in VA news you will see that there are other police departments that are violent. This may take the issue of race off the board and start addressing the real issue of police brutality. and cover ups. The police never have a blemish on their record because police departments don't repremand officers unless the family has money for an attorney or the story becomes news. You can. ,ake difference by exposing the national abuse of power by police officers. It won't matter if this police officer was %100 just in his actions, people are tired of the police and the treatment of citizens. I hope you start investigative reporting and make a difference in American justice. Thank you, Rhonda
