Sew him into a large sack with a monkey, a dog, a chicken, and a snake, then throw him in the river.
The statutory punishment in ancient Rome was, I believe, to be sewn into a leather sack with a cat, a rat, and a dog, and thrown into the Tiber. I think this punishment was reserved for patricides though. I this thing did this on purpose he needs a similar, though more protracted punishment. Why are we talking about the guilt of parents whose kids were left to die in hot vehicles, while the parents attended to more "important" matters?!
In my life of being reputed a scatterbrain, I've lost a lifetime of "things" - keys, money, packages, etc. - I have never forgotten where I had or left my son! We live in a society where people check their dam cell phones every 2 minutes, and leave children (and pets) to die in hot cars. Maybe these "parents" should text themselves: "Hey! Baby on Board"!
