A U.S. official tells CNN that Sergeant Bergdahl may have tried to escape from his Taliban captors on at least two occasions. Investigative reporter David Rohde was held for seven months by the Taliban before he succeeded in escaping. He tells Anderson why it may have been more difficult for Sgt. Bergdahl to get away.

Anderson: You began the program by downplaying any info gleaned from the private investigative contractor (working for the US government at the time) re: Bergdahl's possibly having "gone over to the dark side" vis a vis joining the Taliban, etc. A few minutes later a former navy seal was interviewed and what he said seemed to jolt you. He said that private info was always more reliable than anything the government comes up with..... Then he was gone. Poof. Your two other guests went on at some length to state the contrary: private sources are totally unreliable. Here's where your legendary investigative journalism needs to kick in, fella.
If you suspect the private firm is exaggerating or making these things up outta whole cloth for nefarious reasons, please remember: the government or those who support them, have an equally strong interest in white washing this business to stanch the political bleeding that's going on in DC.
Anderson !!!
You got stuck in my TV and I can't get you out... I've tried 😉
