What was happening in the days before Bergdahl was captured?

We know that Bowe Bergdahl walked off of his base in Afghanistan and he was not seen again until his captors started releasing proof of life videos. There are serious questions about whether there were red flags that might explain why Bergdahl walked away from his unit.
