AC360 Exclusive: Magic Johnson responds to Donald Sterling's insults
NBA legend Magic Johnson did not mean to land at the center of the Donald Sterling scandal. He posed for a photo with Sterling's friend V. Stiviano. She then recorded Sterling's rant where he demanded that she top taking pictures with African-Americans, including Magic Johnson.
The situation only heated up during Donald Sterling's interview with Anderson Cooper. Sterling launched attack after attack aimed at Magic Johnson. The disgraced Clippers owner called him out for his HIV status, questioned his position as a role model and even asked "what does he do for the black people?"
In an exclusive interview, Magic Johnson responds to Sterling's comments and discusses the scandal with Anderson Cooper.
Magic Johnson spoke candidly with Anderson about his decision to announce that he had HIV 22 years ago. Magic also discussed his work helping others with HIV and AIDS. Anderson also asked about Magic's business that brought thousands of jobs to urban areas.
Magic responds after Anderson plays a portion of the Sterling interview where he says, "Jews, when they get successful, they will help their people, and some of the African-Americans - maybe I'll get in trouble again - they don't want to help anybody,"
The NBA is moving ahead with its process for removing Donald Sterling as the owner of the L.A. Clippers. Magic Johnson spoke to Anderson about the future of the team, and his possible role as a future NBA owner.
After Donald Sterling's interview aired on AC360, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver released a statement apologizing to Magic Johnson on behalf of the league for being "dragged into this situation." Magic Johnson spoke to Anderson about the league's handing of the scandal. He also discussed the impact the scandal is having on the playoffs that are going on right now.

The real problem with this Donald Sterling race rage event is it makes any other owner, player, and coach vulnerable to blackmail. Even for a silly old man, he was right about Magic Johnson, who exposed his wife to HIV and was a known cheater. Now he's some sort of saint? No.

Sure it's for ratings, and I'm positive Anderson Cooper and the staff aren't big fans of doing it. I have to admit though, had forgotten to care about news and this article got me to sign up. Am now interested in some meat and potatoes now that I've had my dessert.
As an older guy, Most news is more about sensationalism than anything else, and it turns me off to the whole industry. Even though this story is fluff, it was done with care. Whether you agree with Donald Sterling or Magic, you got good perspective and that impressed me.
btw: I have looked at the older videos and am wondering why you have completely cut out the VA story? I learned alot from the videos on this site, and understand more now. Maybe I should have payed more attention elsewhere, but hard to tell what is worth listening to these days.

I am sorry about the death of your friend Derek Neen Anderson. You must understand we all have a reason and purpose in life to exist. When you search your heart, you shall find your purpose, or you may have already. When that purpose is fulfilled we graduate to a greater existence beyond human understanding. Be honest and noble and true to your heart. Always follow your heart because it shall never lead you in the wrong direction. God never puts more on us than we can handle and sometimes when we fail it is our trails and tribulations. I know you are trying to expand your brand and brand recognition. Well, I recommend you read 'The prayer of Jabez.' I would love to work with you in the future on expanding your brand after I receive my Master's in Communications. I want to be a United States Diplomat or work with the United Nations. Somewhere I can make a difference. You know I don't really know anyone who shares my dreams, so I feel at times isolated.
