Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki is now responding to allegations of U.S. Veterans dying while waiting for care at a Phoenix VA Hospital. It comes less than 24 hours after AC360 aired Drew Griffin's report that showed VA Hospital Director Sharon Helman speeding away from his camera, before finally sitting down to deny allegations made by a retired doctor that her hospital kept a secret waiting list. Drew Griffin has the latest twist in the case.

The CNN report (LOL) is at least 90% WRONG, and full of holes all over the place. As a disabled veteran myself, this is what ACTUALLY happens at the VA hospital(s) near you.
First you enroll in the system. It does take time, but you need to relax and let the system work for you. While waiting, you are given a form letter authorizing you to receive medical care elsewhere that is approved by the VA. In my case my local hospital and physical therapy.. The bill(s) are then sent to the VA to be paid.
Second, once you are in the system, once a year you are scheduled for an appointment with your doctor, and that continues until such time more appointments are needed. You receive a physical check up, prescription drugs if needed, and an eye exam.
Finally, you are given an EMERGENCY nurses station phone number in case of an emergency!!! The nurse gives you clearance to go to your LOCAL EMERGENCY ROOM hospital for treatment. The bill is forwarded to the VA for processing...etc. If YOU, as a veteran fail to follow these instructions, then it is ON YOU for putting yourself in a emergency medical situation.
The CNN reporter doing the spot interview was completely amateurish, and NEVER ASKED KEY QUESTIONS a high school kid would have asked. Pathetic.
