It initially appeared that President Putin made the decision to invade Ukraine with little warning. But now the head of the Defense Intelligence Agency says there was evidence more than a week in advance and the Obama Administration was warned. Anderson discussed this with former CIA officer Bob Baer, The New Republic's Julia Ioffe and World Policy Journal Editor-in-Chief David Andelman.
Anderson Cooper goes beyond the headlines to tell stories from many points of view, so you can make up your own mind about the news. Tune in weeknights at 8 and 10 ET on CNN.

Crisis in #Ukraine is Our Own Making? Disappointed in our media and gov http://wp.me/p4pxNG-3 via @wordpressdotcom
Over the last couple of month I have been closely watching events unfolding in Ukraine and can only say that I am extremely disappointed with our media coverage and government actions during this time. The people of Ukraine that lived together in piece for many centuries are now deeply divided and acting out of fear of being oppressed by the “other” side. They will do anything for their safety and safety of their families, including inviting Russian troops to calm down the situation. Crimea is just the beginning, southern and eastern parts of the country will follow quickly if situation would not stabilize.
Unfortunately, despite all that, our government policy and media continue one sided open support to new Ukrainian government, and effectively disenfranchise the other half of the population that had different views. This caused completely opposite effect that one would hope, and turned people away from EU towards Russia because we didn’t bother to show too much support or compassion for them. I wish we can find a way to fix this problem, which we are responsible for as much as anybody else. Nothing is ever black and white, and I hope we will eventually learn from our mistakes, and be more careful and thoughtful before we choose sides in future conflicts.
