Ebony Wilkerson is now facing three counts of attempted first-degree murder for driving her three children into the Atlantic Ocean. Witnesses say the kids called for help, screaming that their mother was trying to kill them. Wilkerson denies trying to harm anyone, but rescuers say she tried to stop them from saving the children. Nick Valencia has the latest on the case.
Anderson discussed this with Senior Legal Analyst Jeffrey Toobin and reproductive psychiatrist Dr. Catherine Birndorf who says in Wilkerson's mind "she may have thought she was helping her kids."

I really think the legal definition of insanity needs to be expanded; I see nothing positive coming from locking this obviously sick woman up for God knows how many years instead of trying to TREAT what is wrong with her.
Such a tragic situation, I hope that the kids will somehow with help be able to cope in the long term with what they have gone through and I hope that this mother will get the help she needs. Not easy for any of us here on the outside looking in to understand the mental upset this lady has and is going through. But how desperate it must be for her to believe that the only way out of this mental torment is to end the lives of her children ...... And what of the wee baby, not yet born. All so very sad.
