Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel announced plans for steep budget cuts for the military. Under the proposal, the Army would shrink to its lowest troop level in nearly 75 years. Republicans are lining up to slam the plan. Former Vice President Dick Cheney claimed President Obama would "rather spend the money on food stamps than he would on a strong military." Anderson takes a look at criticism from the right and speaks with Chief National Security Correspondent Jim Sciutto about what these budget cuts really mean.

I'm a Disabled Veteran from the reign of George H. W. Bush. Before "Desert Shield" or Desert Storm was even considered there were talks among Congress to reduce the Military into one major branch. No more Marines, Army, Air Force or Navy individually but one super military. All of a sudden troops are being deployed to the Gulf to intervene in a religious war between Iraq & Kuwait, that had been going on for Centuries. All Talks about combining the branches stop. Now after 23 years of pumping BILLIONS of dollars into Desert Storm & Iraqis Freedom, both in my opinion were totally unnecessary and sucked all the resources out of civilians at home in the U.S. Leaving millions homeless, unemployed, businesses bankrupt, crashing the stock market, not to mention the powers that be are being very considerate with U.S. money and rendering aid and rebuilding the places military destroyed overseas, now offering aid and rebuilding to Ukraine, for something that had nothing to do with the U.S. People point fingers at our current president when they should start looking further back when this travesty first began.
