Jonathan Vilma on his comments about playing with a gay NFL teammate: "it is a poor example of me trying to demonstrate the dynamics of the locker room"
New Orleans Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma spoke with AC360 about his remarks on what he thinks it would be like to have a gay teammate. Two weeks ago, in an interview with the NFL Network, he questioned how an openly gay player would change the league's locker room culture. That was before former Missouri All-American defensive lineman Michael Sam, who is preparing for the NFL draft, revealed he is gay. John Berman spoke with Jonathan Vilma and former Minnesota Viking Chris Kluwe.

Apologies by these nematodes just don't cut it any more. Fine them a few million per screw-up and let them learn the hard way. This seems to be the only solution for jocks!
why do many seem to think that gay men are attracted to every other man? are all straight men attracted to all women? i certainly am not and i'm comfortable assuming that this is the case with other straight men as well.
Most people don't think that, just as men aren't attracted to every single woman.
However, in a room with 53 professional athletes, it's very likely that gays will be attracted to some of them. These guys are, for the most part, in incredible physical shape with muscular and athletic bodies, the type that gay men and straight women are often attracted to.
it's probably very emasculating for a man to feel that he might be sized up by a gay man while naked and in the same room with him. I don't think that's an unreasonable concern.
Mr. Vilma will very likely get a total check on his reality to find that he has been in the locker room with gay teammates all along ... they just have not come out to their team. And that pretty much sums up the h.u.g.e difference that it will make. Like zero, zip, nada. Unless, of course, you count the hope of positively raise consciousnesses on the stupidity of homophobia.
no reality check at all. every player knows that there are gay guys, if not on their own teams, then certainly in the NFL. guys sometimes even suspect who they are on their own teams.
That's not the point; the point is having an openly-gay man size you up while you shower or get dressed naked right next to him. It's not crazy to think that might happen.
