Was the treatment of Kendrick Johnson's remains illegal?

Kendrick Johnson’s body was found inside a mat in his high school’s gym last January. Police declared the 17-year-old’s death an accident, but his family believes he was murdered. When they had Kendrick's remains exhumed for an independent autopsy they were shocked to learn his organs were missing and his body was stuffed with newspapers. The state of Georgia conducted an investigation. Victor Blackwell has the results.
