As the nation pauses to remember President John F. Kennedy today, there was another killing in Dallas on that horrible day. A 39-year-old Dallas police officer named J.D. Tippit was killed by the man who shot John F Kennedy. Officer Tippit died in the line of duty and became part of history. We remember him in tonight's American Journey.

That is nice that he is being remembered. It was a sad day that day for all but for his family it really hit close to home.
