Iowa Republican Congressman Steve King spoke to Anderson about the government shutdown and the upcoming debt ceiling deadline. He talked about the state of the standoff saying, "The lid is on the pressure cooker." Rep. King predicted an agreement to end the shutdown would pass in the House, he also warned "this Congress does not have the discipline to bring down spending and balance the budget."
Chief National Correspondent John King along with political analysts Gloria Borger and David Gergen listened to Congressman King's interview and weighed in on the budget standoff.

I suggest that part of the debit ceiling discussions involving the so called Entitlement Reform should include rolling the congressional pension and healthcare benefits into Social Security and Medicare which all working Americans pay into. After all members of Congress are part of the working public, or do they consider themselves as a privileged group?
I am a democrats who do not care too much for republicans agenda ,but i have to agree a1000 %that unless there is entittelment reform in the programs for the poor ,i am sorry but there is just no way to pay down the debt .There is just too much people abusing and defrauding the system its a joke .Whats worst is that the democrats refuse to deal with this problem .If they truely want whats best for this country they have to address this problem .people who pay no money into the system getting back 6-10,000 taxe refund kids who are supported by taxpayers getting earn income credit ,yet people who work 2 jobs to survive get nothing ,just make a baby and defraud the tax payers .I sent a letter to Rand Paul getting ready ro send one to the senate office ,entittelment reform has to be done .this comes from a low income worker who is tired of seeing people doing the same job as me and cheating the system
