Michelle Langbehn is a young mother who is battling a rare form of cancer. She was diagnosed shortly after she gave birth, but now the cancer has spread. She was in the process of enrolling in a clinical trial when the government shutdown on Tuesday. Now that trial is on hold. Next time you want to play politics and make the government look bad, take time to think about the lives you are ruining and the added suffering and anguish you are deliberately inflicting all to satisfy your political ego, promote your selfish agenda, and antagonize the sincere government trying to make it better for the majority of Americans who needs the government to function properly and look after their interest.
Let us take a real hard look at whos working for the American public and their interests come election time. I think some real housecleaning is needed!!
This is such BS!!!! It is nothing but a power struggle and in the mean time, people are suffering. Not all American people are against Obamacare. However, right is right and wrong is wrong... This shutdown is wrong...
When this shut down started it was said that it was because of the Affordable Care Act. It was worked over for over a year and then voted by the Congress and Senate and signed by President Obama. Then it was reviewed by the Supreme Court and with the exception of a bit of a change was said to be legal. Now the Congress wants to get rid of it so they vote over 40 times to repeal. If you look at the Constitution it says that they need 2/3 of the vote for the repeal. They could not get the necessary votes so they shut down the government and again the people and economy suffer. Lets stop this crap and go back to the Constitution that the Tea Party seems to think is not being enforced.
I think that more mention should be made of the fact that a majority of the house of representatives is prepared to vote in a budget authorization without the restrictions to Obamacare, just that a majority of Republicans will not be in favor, but the broad spectrum of center ground Republicans and Democrats will. This is, to me, and unusual and unproductive policy of Boehner's and one that should be explored with the practices of recent past Speakers of the House.....Did Nancy Pelosi follow the same restriction? As a Democrat, I hope not, but it would be interesting and timely to examine this on your show.
Why can't the dems just compromise! All they have to do is give in and the shut down will be over! The American people don't want Obamacare. Americans don't like fair affordable healthcare...right? Americans want insurance companies to make all their medical decisions for them....we trust these huge companies to do what's right for us,,,right? after all.... everybody knows that if you just give the damn bully your lunch money you won't get a beating. If you stand up and tell the bully, no more .....well, you deserve what you get.
