Anderson I here about all these people being furloughed and not going to get payed , what about the congressmen and others that are doing this to the small people? Are they going to give up their pay? Why are they going to get payed and people that have no control anymore being punished? I remember hearing something about this being a government for the people by the people, think it time for the people to hire a new government and take our control back.
Just saw the discussion about children and trophies. I highly disagree. I am a recently retired teacher of students in grades K to 8. Let me tell you that many children do experience failure. They experience it daily in the classroom and in other situations. Receiving a trophy for trying or showing up is a good thing. Most of these trophies are given outside of a classroom setting and helps a student's self esteem. I bet everyone on that panel, including the researcher, received one of these trophies and/ or awards , thus encouraging them to reach the professional heights that they have.
The show has no redeeming value. Maybe that is why it is so popular.
