Former Islamist extremist speaks out

Some suggest if the U.S. helps topple the Assad regime, we would be fighting on the side of al Qaeda. There are serious questions about who makes up the Syrian opposition, and what they really want. Maajid Nawaz was once a self-professed Islamic radical. He has since left that life and brings his unique perspective to the AC360 Later panel.

    I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed this discussion. Finally not punditry and the 20 second sound bite. Please have more of these. Americans need to understand the complexities surrounding such issues as Syria and it is rare to have a truly nuanced discussion.
