Vice President Joe Biden says there is "no doubt" the Assad regime used chemical weapons to attack innocent Syrians. If ordered to strike, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel says U.S. forces are "ready to go." But what are the Obama administration's military, strategic, and diplomatic goals? Anderson asked New Yorker staff writer Dexter Filkins, Newsweek and Daily Beast special correspondent Peter Beinart, national security analyst Fran Townsend, and chief national correspondent John King.

Divide and Conquer! I feel compelled to share a conversation I had a wonderful friend who has relatives and did business with Syria under the Asaad Regime and says it was the best government in the region. The self sufficient country repetitively turned down extreme pressure to join the "World Bank" and viola...a civil war! My friend and the regime claims that it is a conspiracy and I believe him. His family (Christians) have tried to flee from Islamic extremists...in Syria and Turkey. The women have been separated from the men and they do not know where they were taken. I would like proof of where and who used the chemical weapons before taking action. Have we drank the Coolaid? Who is investigating? Propaganda got us into Iraq...is Big Oil behind this conflict? Would not surprise me.
Has anyone considered that the Syria Regime IS BAITING THE WORLD? Has anyone considered that the Syria Regime is consciously PUSHING THE BUTTONS of the world – that the Syria Regime wants to start something! – that the Syria Regime has been planning to bully the U.S. and other Nations into war!
– has anyone asked the questions – why now? why is the Syria Regime choosing to do all this now when it could have done it before. What are we NOT seeing, what are we overlooking in this picture and these events?
US should not participate in military intervention. This is a matter for the UN.
We don't want or need another war.
US should not intervene militarily or othwise.
If we strike Syria, we will only cause more innocent people to die and kill Americans too. War will not end with a few missiles. It always just escalates hate and full war. The United States is not responsible for the evil in the world. They need to clean up their act at home first. Where is the U.N. at this point? Where is China?
