   A scary time for Egypt, and as a Canadian Egyptian with many loved ones there, I fear for their safety and the future of Egypt. Protests were peaceful in the Mobarak days, until pro Mobarak protesters used violence, and later many admitted they were promised money and only received a portion of what was promised. When millions demonstrated against Morsi, it was also peaceful. The pro Morsi protests which are significantly smaller began by using violence, not words to get their message across. Unfortunately police forces have to use extreme measures when peaceful anti Morsi civilians and police forces themselves were being attacked and murdered. I do not support the violence, but I feel the media is looking at one side of the story. In the time Morsi has been in power, he has destroyed the country. He has not addressed any of the concerns of the Egyptian people, and instead used religion to govern the country. His plans for the future are terrifying, I wish the media would include his plans to divide the country into Christian and Muslim, his plans to give land to other countries, to create hatred and prejudice, which has already happened. The Muslim Brotherhood’s ties to alqaeda scare me, and I do not understand why so many countries are pushing for Morsi to be reinstated. Not long ago there was a time when Muslim, Christian and Jewish Egyptians lived in harmony. I should also mention that I myself am Muslim.

     Rasha please always tell the truth.Pro Morsi protests were also peaceful as anti Morsi protests. In fact for over 40 days the pro Morsi protesters were peacefully sitting on the streets calling for the return of legitimate and democratically elected president Morsi that was forcefully toppled in a Military coup. It was the Military Junta in Egypt that used violence and brutality to clear the pro Morsi protesters form the streets. They massacred over 700 pro Morsi protesters to achieve their target. This what happened and the whole world saw it. Even if you hate Morsi, you should be kind enough to distaste mass killing of peaceful protesters.

       Amy, why would "peaceful protesters" have guns and use their supporters as human shields when they responded to tear gases with their arms? You're clearly reading the news from just one side.

       If you understand Arabic Amy, I urge you to listen to the speeches on the Rabaa stage, if not, please look for a translation and understand what the Rabaa people were being told to do.
