A six-person Florida jury of all women will decide George Zimmerman's fate. Randi Kaye takes a look at who the individual jurors are, and some of their key reactions in court.

    Did you realize that 5 out of the 6 juers own guns in their household. This is a much higher % than the population in general. Why didn't you point out the obvious pro-gun tune in her opinion? The defendant GZ had a better edge from the start.

    Good grief. So tired of this. The evidence was presented. The laws we're applied. The jurors spoke. Bad situation for two families. Race was not a part of this. To be "safe" follow the rules and laws in your community. As for a mentoring program in their foundation, Mr. Zimmerman was a mentor of black youth. Maybe the Trayvon Foundation can help inner city kids follow rules.

      Kids never follow ever rule that is laid in front of them. Im sure you didn't follow ever rule as a kid. Fact of the case is George Zimmerman was an adult and he didn't follow the dispatch instructions of staying put!!!

      I totally agree with you, LaRinda. the NAACP should be ashamed at their actions. The "Reverends" should be ashamed at what they are trying to cause. I can't believe they claim they are working towards "civil rights"...Where is the justice for Mr Zimmerman and his family?

      zimmerman was also a troubled man who had a history of being overly aggressive. he was fired from a job doing security at house parties because he roughed up a drunk woman. he had a confrontation with a man after tailgating that man. he roughed up a girlfriend on two known occasions and he followed neighbors he was suspicious of, neighbors who complained about him at their association meetings. It's all public record. He started the neighborhood watch and appointed himself captain. Statements to the police that night indicated that he was following "someone who did not belong there" while he was on patrol. He was on his way to the store, not on patrol, and he assumed Trayvon did not belong there, much as he did with other neighbors who were also legitimately on the premises. His overly aggressive nature may have charmed the pants off of the all woman jury but it should have raised flags and factored into the testimony and deliberations. He sounds more like the neighborhood bully who almost seemed to expect others to ask permission to come into HIS neighborhood.

      Rules like what?
      1) Don't walk to the store. Have someone drive you. Walking is bad for your health and could be fatal.
      2) Don't wear a hoodee. A seersucker suit and a fine derby is proper attire for stuffy Florida retirement and other complexes and will alleviate any suspicion that you are doing nothing less than taking a fine leisurely stroll. Oops, see rule #1
      3) Anyone who buys skittles and tea is surely making drugs. Twinkies and a budweiser are more typical southern fair.
      4) Should you be followed, simply call out, "yoo-hoo, I appreciate the Neighborhood Watch escorting me to my door, thus ensuring my safety." Should the follower be some pervert, oh well. Shoulda followed rule #1

      So, what are the rules for Neighborhood Watchers? How about 1) Let the uniformed police handle it.

    To Trayvon's family ,I am so deeply sorry for your loss. No one should have to burry a child. I'm sorry it came down to a fatal gun shot. But Trayvon did attack Mr. Zimmerman. There fore he felt threatened. I wish there had been a fight and Trayvon could have ran away unharmed. If only things would have been different. If Trayvon had not been were he shouldn't have been. If only....

      YES, YES, YES! Trayvon was where he should not have been. He should have walked home, and not tried to instigate a fight with a man smaller than him. He would still be alive today.

    Trevon was on private property. Any member of the homeowner's association had the right to ask him where he was going and what he was doing. It wasn't a public street, he didn't live there, he was visiting. Trevon had no right to be there, he was not registered as living there, and not registered as a visitor. Zimmerman asked him what he was doing there and Trevon acted like a 17 year old he gave attitude; he wasn't going to let that guy get in his face. If Trevon had respected Zimmerman as a homeowner, told him where he was visiting, and gone back there, nothing would have happened. Trevon was not walking home, home was in Miami, he was hanging out. There are loitering rules in a condo complex, and Zimmerman had a right to question someone who didn't live there. All this "he was walking home and Zimmerman followed him" is nonsense, Trevon was hanging out in a condo complex at which he was visiting, and he didn't respect the authority of the homeowner who questioned him.

      That is why you let the law enforcement handle it. You are looking at Trayvon Martin situation from an adult point of view and not from a child point of view. As a child, it is frightening for an adult to follow you for quite some time without the adult first identifying themself. How would you feel if you were a teenager and someone was following you; It is raining, it is at night, and this adult don’t first identify themself to you. How would you feel? Don’t look at this question from an adult point of view, but from a teenager point of view.

      In other words residents can't have friends or family visitors? A boy was going to visit his father's girlfriend, she was expecting him. You call that trespassing? Zimmerman was told by his superiors not to get out of the car to follow Trayvon, but he ignored that and confronted Trayvon, an unarmed innocent boy. Trayvon's instinct for self preservation against an armed "wanabe" cop was a natural reaction. If Trayvon was white and Zimmerman black, Trayvon would be given the death penalty!

      I'm confused I thought Zimmerman was supposed to be the neighborhood watch. So when you assume a position of responsibilities there are standards and rules to abide by also....and I'm so sure that higher authorities told him (Zimmerman) to stay put.
      Trayvon is someone's child contrary to what our opinions are. So now people hold him accountable for walking through a neighborhood but not the adult that should of handled the situation as was instructed by dispatch.

        We are all someone's child.
        From what was brought up at the trial, Trayvon Martin helped cause his own death! All he had to do was walk home. He didn't! He chose instead to attack Mr Zimmerman because he thought he could beat him! And he had been ready and eager for a fight with a white man – That's what he had texted his friends before the incident. You and Trayvon Martin's family and friends and the NAACP and all the "reverends" of this world cannot hide the facts that they are trying to enrage the black communities simply because they are BLACK. We are not in the 60's anymore. These so called "civil right rallies" don't work anymore. they take our nation backwards. Let's concentrate on Black-on-Black crimes. 94% of Black murders are caused by Blacks. And why this silence on Black racist attacks on Whites? Let's all join together on what will make real changes! And your "Rallies" and your " civil right" whatever, won't do it!

      Aunt Millie, So if you are walking in your community and some guy angrily approaches you and asks what you are doing you will answer, you will submit, you show deference, you acquiesce, you do not stand your ground? America land of the free and any whack with an inferiority complex can demand of anyone and start drawing lines in the ground. And if they do not submit they will be shot. Land of the free? Sort of like the freedom they were working on in Germany circa 1933 to 1945.

      Mr Zimmerman obviously called the police as often as he saw crime being committed or suspicious folks walking around his neighborhood. that is his prerogative and hurray for him for being a good citizen! As we see from the information that came out of the trial, there were obviously too many crimes being committed in his city and not enough police officers, so Zimmerman's community was not getting the protection it needed. Mr Zimmerman called for help and nobody came. And if all the youth committing crime in his neighborhood is Black, ( as it was mentioned time and time again) then what does that tell YOU? I am getting sick and tired of folks who use their skin color to create as much of an abyss as they possibly can between Blacks and Whites! We are not in the 60's anymore! We don't need this kind of "rallies" and the "race hustlers" are only hurting the Black communities. Let it go! Concentrate on how to alleviate Black-on-black crimes in big cities! Concentrate on Black teen pregnancies! Concentrate on a strong education for Blacks so that Black are able to get the very best jobs they can, and not turn into gang members! So much to concentrate on! and why on Earth would anyone want to sacrifice a man who was only protecting his neighborhood and simply didn't happen to be Black??

    What if????? Trayvon's dad had been on neighborhood watch, Zimmerman was walking to his apartment from the store (with a soda and a bag of chips). Trayvon's dad, followed him, started a fight with Zimmerman (unarmed), and shot him in the heart and called it self defense. What do you think the outcome who have been. hhhmmmmmmmmm;)

        No Rebecca it would not have, there is a women who was being beat up or beat to death by her husband, and shot her gun as a warning to keep him from hurting her, and she got 20 to life with no parole, So no it would not have been the same. Oh and yes she is black.

          Ike-–Not sure what your point is. The alleged abuser was also black. so was this racial? Do not understand your point. This case was featured on HLN two nights ago, and it has no similarities to the Zimmerman- Martin case. She got twenty years because she was on probation, was not to have a gun , and the jury which was balanced in terms of race and ethnicity, also did not believe her.Don't think they were picking on her. you should read more about the case, as you are missing some of the facts.

      Linda, you are very correct! All of us who don't use our skin color to claim " oppression" or whatever we want to claim at the time are with you. Remember O.J. Simpson. He killed in cold blood his ex and her friend who happened to be white – There was a trial.... and remember what happened? I didn't see any NAACP and any "Reverends" organize any "rallies" against " civil rights violations....Did YOU? So please, let's not go overboard and loose the facts in the process! Trayvon Martin started a fight with a man he thought he could beat – and he almost did. Mr Zimmerman was protecting the community where his family and friends lived. When attacked so viciously, he didn't have a choice but defend himself Trayvon Martin started the fight. He had a choice – all he had to do was continue to walk to his father's place.
