MY THOUGHTS: Zimmerman never would have been screaming OR had his nose bloody had he listened to the 911 operator that said "police are on the way, DO NOT follow him". I don't know about you BUT I was taught that if you're being followed get your defenses up and be ready to fight for your life because you never know the intentions of the person following you and you NEVER want to be taken to a second location.
I think Martin was 1. Minding his own business 2. Being followed 3. Felt in danger 4. Fought for his life 5. Fought with his fist. I, personally, don't think this would have turned into a racial issue IF the police in Florida would have AT LEAST taken Z to the precinct instead of letting him go free for as long as they did.
In addition, if a stranger, appeared to be following me and continued to follow me, I would run. If still being followed or if approached, I would probably fight back (when younger). It is instinct. I would think especially so if I was a young black man, who we all know are sometimes unjustly profiled.
I am the grandmother of an 8 year old MMA Jr. black belt. He could take me down if he chose to even though I am much larger than he is. I have often wondered how Zimmerman, a partially trained MMA fully grown adult could allow a 17 year old to do such damage to him? Something does not sound right to me.
His instructor said Zimmerman was soft, and would not place him in a real match.
Yes Zimmerman was a grown adult, but Trayvon was much taller 5'11". Trayvon had longer arms and larger fists! Teenagers are very strong! Trayvon straddled Zimmerman!
