Greenwald 'staggered' by King accusation

Tonight Anderson Cooper asked Glenn Greenwald of The Guardian to respond to the accusations that he threatened to disclose the names of CIA agents, and the idea he should face consequences for his reporting on Edward Snowden and breaking the story on the U.S. surveillance programs.

Republican Congressman Peter King said on AC360 Tuesday night  if reporters linked to the NSA leaker willingly knew they were revealing classified information, they should be punished. Then today the lawmaker claimed Greenwald was threatening to reveal the names of CIA personnel, which King considers a direct attack on America. For that, King is calling for Greenwald to be prosecuted.

Greenwald calls King's allegations a fabrication.

"I was really staggered that a United States congressman, the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, actually could go on national television and make up an accusation ... as a way of arguing for my arrest and prosecution inside the United States for the crime of doing journalism," said Greenwald. "It's bad enough to call for that, it's extraordinarily menacing that he did so based on a complete falsehood – the idea that I ever threatened that. I did not, nor would I ever."

Watch the full interview for more of Greenwald's reaction to the charges made by Rep. King.

Glenn Greenwald should be arrested for receiving stolen property....who knowling received stolen property without joining to jail and at this point he is helping a traitor...per Greenwald he is deciding what secrets America will keep and which ones he decides to share with the world...I don't want the press deciding what secrets the country keeps...this is why the Obama Administration is investigation the press. Finally someone with enough courage to check the press which has been totally out of control for years....funny this traitor took flight about the same the story about the press investigation hit the news cycle.
