Toobin: Snowden actions illegal, immoral
CNN Chief Legal Analyst Jeffrey Toobin says Edward Snowden didn't have the right to expose government surveillance programs. Snowden, a 29-year-old computer technician for a U.S. defense contractor, released top secret information about programs that collect phone and Internet data.

NSA monitoring our phonecalls and internet activity with out American people's concent is illegal. It is illegal to record a conversation between two friends with out them both agreeing to it. Yes what snowden did probably violated his contract and his security clearance but what we need to be looking at is what he leaked and why the NSA is doing this? What he did is wrong so hold him accountable but hold NSA accountable for what they did as well!
Every day, Americans' emails are read by Google, Adware, Spyware, Facebook, etc., all without our consent, for no reason than to sell us stuff. If the government is checking phone records to see who among us is calling Tehran or Syria on a regular basis, in order to save our lives and fight terrorism - that's it's job! Snowden needs to shut up. Snowden is somebody's pawn, throwing dirt on the current administration. During the Bush administration, they were actually wiretapping! This hardly compares.
For the first time I disagree with Toobin, partially. Technically, under law, what Snowden did was illegal. So are the majority of whistleblower acts of insiders whether they divulge publicly or covertly to others who then follow the so-called-legal “whistleblower track.”
But what the government agencies are doing in this regard is illegal—not partially. It is. They don't want to be exposed? Don’t do it!
Use a thief to catch a thief. I hope Snowden knows Cninese.
Your comments on Snowden reflect the philosophy of killing the messenger. The point should be on the breach of our American ideals by the NSA spying.
