Tonight on AC360: Man reunited with best friend after tornadoes

At 8 p.m. ET tonight, Randi Kaye has a heartwarming story about a man reunited with his best friend, a pit bull named Junior, after the Texas tornadoes. Jerry Shuttlesworth wasn't sure if he would ever see his dog again. The two were separated in the powerful winds.

Like Junior, hundreds of pets were left homeless after the storm. A local shelter has been trying to connect them with their owners, but it's a difficult task without cell phone service and many residents displaced.

The National Weather Service said at least 16 tornadoes are responsible for the deadly force that completely destroyed homes and buildings in North Texas. At least six people lost their lives.

Nin Hulett, mayor pro tem for Granbury, Texas, told Anderson Cooper last night about the jarring remains – exposed slabs of concrete and carpet where houses once stood. The small town about 30 miles southwest of Dallas-Fort Worth is starting to pick up the pieces today.

Meteorologist Chad Myers is tracking some new storms that could cause trouble over the weekend. Watch AC360 for details and Randi's report.

If I lived in the tornado zone, with tornados getting worse every year. I woulod have cables every 24" accross my roof (perminently, especially mobile homes) laid ready to connect to ground mounted anchorswhen the tornados were expected, since the roofs are first to go leading to the worst damage.
