Charles Barkley as always is the voice of reason. Lets stop pretending the Gay players don't exist, let them be who they want to be, and let the homophobes at least speak up and maybe get some dialog going. It's time to push forward with Civil Rights and equality for all based on their sexual orientation and hey, if professional sports is one of those arenas where we can start to make progress then so be it!

I frankly do not understand what the big deal is over the basketball player who announced he is gay. What about Magic Johnson who announced he had HIV? Due, I assume to an extramarital affair. These guys are paid to play and deliver to their fan base. Their personal lives, unless they affect their game is none of anyone's biz. Start a foundation in your off season otherwise if you do not want the nosy reporters digging around then do not make a public deal about it. Be happy, not an icon for gays or anything. What difference does it make?

Well said, Sir Charles. I believe that we should be open to discussion that includes all points of view. Shaming others for their beliefs or thoughts only entrenches beliefs and doesn't allow someone to grow in their development – whether personal beliefs change or not.

Thank you for letting the other voice heard. Although there are a multitude of voices other than the Christian immorality argument that should cause people with same sex attraction to pause. Most noteworthy is the health concersn that will plague mostt men who engate in same sex acts. This is sn't a judgement...it is simply scientific fact. Hearing Robbie Rogers say he is so happy he would not change who he was was in a sense short sighted. The reason he was miserable was because he was leading a double life and that would cause anyone misery. What does acting out on your same sex attraction look like...what does it really look like? The same could be said of opposite sex relations outside of marriage...what does that really look like? Unintended preganncies that end up in killed babies, STD's, mistrust or antagonism toward the opposite sex...more fragile relationships. This is the truth of acting out....but we fpcus on the short term of the joy of sexual freedom...and we all live the long term consequences.
