As awful it is, this does not feel like al-Qaida or any other Middle Eastern terrorist attack. I cannot help but wonder if these attacks have something to do with the gun control or immigration issues that are such hot topics in the country right now. I certainly hope that those with the power to influence public opinion & perception will take the required amount of time to allow the experts to determine what actually occurred here. It would be very unfortunate if we jump to conclusions that results in a backlash against anyone. Regardless, my heart goes out to the victims of these attacks even if they were not physically injured. Their horror and trauma along with so may other disturbing events in recent months is just one more jarring and chilling reminder of how much our society has changed since 9/11 and how vulnerable we have become. Despite our differences & growing pains America has always been a shining example of optimism and promise to the rest of the world. I hope we can emerge from this and so may other tragedies an even stronger symbol of those attributes, without allowing our response to deteriorate into an overreaction that could result in people being unjustly stereotyped, accused or mistreated. As long as we can maintain our composure and behave rationally, our inherent strength and determination will win out. As has been the case far too often I the past 11-12 years, we need each other now more than ever before.
Anderson please look at your video from 8:16 pm tonight. There is a man in a black shirt walking away looking unconcerned and there s clearly something in his right hand. Could be a phone, but could be something else.
