Tonight on AC360: Family of slain Colorado prisons chief

In an exclusive interview at 8 and 11 p.m. ET, Anderson Cooper talks with Tom Clements' wife and daughters. They share memories and speak about how their family is coping with their devastating loss.

Clements, the executive director of the Colorado Department of Corrections, was gunned down at his home on March 19. Clements' wife, Lisa, was in the house at the time.

Errors by law enforcement may have played a role in the crime. The suspect, Evan Ebel, was released from prison four years too soon because of a clerical mistake.

Weeks after the 28-year-old was paroled, Ebel disabled his ankle monitor, but it took five days before authorities realized it. The day they began the process of revoking his parole was the day police believe he killed Clements.

Asked if she's angry about the mistakes, Lisa Clements says focusing on that would take away from her ability to care for her children. "I could become enraged ... but it won't bring Tom back."

I can only imagine. My heart goes out to Lisa and her family. Her pain is real and it's so sad! Why is passion deadly?
