If SCOTUS tries to balance the gay marriage issue by finding a ruling against Prop 8, but not declaring that marriage between any two people is constitutional would be the wimpiest thing this court can do. It's the Supreme Court. It's either ok to discriminate against some people under the Constitution or it's not. Just give us your opinion when it comes to same-sex marriage, Justices. And Justice Kennedy... while I appreciate your sympathetic recognition of how children of same-sex parents are affected, this is about the right of two adults who choose to form this union and the rights they have with marital status, not children.
