CNN's Drew Griffin reports on Oscar Pistorius' request for leniency on the conditions of his bail, including traveling outside of South Africa while he awaits trial. He's charged with the murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, in his home. The national prosecutor's office says it's going to oppose the lifting of the travel ban.
A BBC report quoted a friend of Pistorius claiming the athlete is suicidal. Pistorius' uncle says that's not the case. In a statement, Arnold Pistorius writes, "Oscar, broken as he currently is, believes he has a purpose in life and is working towards that."
Griffin also reports that Pistorius is selling his home and several racehorses to cover the cost of his defense.

Bad move. I would think that his defense would at least advise him to try to look remorseful.... asking to go gallivanting around the world and wanting to carry on with your life six weeks after your shot your girlfriend and she lays dead in the ground is disrespectful and makes him look callus.
Pistorious, is accused of murdering his girlfriend. No, he should not be allowed to leave the house. He's not above the law. Had he been in the USA, probably wouldn't have made bail.
Ann, if you were living in South Africa you would have understand this. . . The use of guns in the USA is much worse than in S.A The world is making such a big thing out of this but if this was just your average John nobody would cared.
