I can't imagine what this mother is going through. This mother's daughter was murdered by a 13 yr old girl!! This wasn't Gang violence. But gang violence or gun violence, however you want to put it, is an unacceptable aspect of American society that unfortunately has become a part of our fabric that is too intricately woven in. My question now is where is America's outrage to this tragic loss in ONE family? Do we only respond as a nation when the victoms are in neighborhoods where this "isn't" suppose to happen. Isn't it a national tragedy when over 500 African-American CHILDREN are murdered every year in one city alone. Multiply that by countless cities all over the nation and we have an epidemic on our hands that is tragically overlooked and unfortunately excused and accepted as a way of life in these urban areas.

Government lack of gun control? Really, are we so dense as to completely overlook the lack of gang control? As sad as it is to hear of a mother losing all of her children, to anything, for any reason, how can you rest the blame on the gun and not on the decision to join a gang and participate in gang related activities? Did child number 2, 3, and 4 really think it was going to turn out differently? Lack of gun control please! Lack of ambition, education, simple knowledge of right and wrong certainly, but gun control, I don't think so.

Chicago passed laws making essentially all guns illegal during the times these tragedies occurred. These murders did not result from permissive gun laws.

This is NOT the governments fault!!!! It is the societies and the communities fault. Chicago already had the toughest guns laws and it had NO affect on the issue. People need to wake up and take responsibility.

God bless you. I hope you find the strength to carry on.

get rid of the guns, and it'll eventually get rid of the gang violence...as you can see this was all gun violence...so really the answer is to get rid of guns...you don't have to be a genius to see that...

This is so very sad....a mother losing all of her children to gun violence! I have never in my life recall hearing of anything like this....after the second or third death, did she ever think of moving out of her area? I know violence happens everywhere, but this is way too much for this family! I pray she tries to stay strong, and call on Our Heavenly Father......this is heart breaking!
