    S. Hunter,
It's amazing to me how the American people are alright with sending thier young men off to war, and placing guns in these young men's hands and telling them to stop the threat by shooting other people. Yet when it comes to a young person that is legally capable of concealing a gun, people are all up in arms because young people are not mature enough. BTW, trained personel can't always be there when you need them the most. I will say that I don't believe everyone that is of the age to carry concealed is mature enough, but there are many young people that are capable of carrying.

Allow concealed guns on campus? Good grief! CDC has been prevented from doing studies on guns in America. But take a look at CDC's studies on young people and driving. "Young people ages 15-24 represent only 14% of the U.S. population. However, they account for 30% ($19 billion) of the total costs of motor vehicle injuries among males and 28% ($7 billion) of the total costs of motor vehicle injuries among females." That is the financial side of the issue. The fatality rate figures are just as grim. That is not all related to the inexperience of young drivers, but to the risk taking behavior, and what happens when several young people are in the car together. Most of us know about risk taking behavior when young, either because we indulged in it or because we witnessed it. So do we think that armed college students would respond like well trained military personnel or police officers in the face of panic? We also have all heard of friendly fire in war and in civilian situations, and those reports have referred to well trained individuals being the ones firing. I just hope to God that common sense prevails in this debate and that this bill is NOT passed. It is asking for BIG trouble.

You're basically implying that people OVER the age of 21 and that have passed background checks, finger printing, and classes are somehow just as reckless as a 15 year old driving a car. I disagree sir.

Senator Patrick says that "we" have the right to carry concealed weapons to defend ourselves... ad nauseum. Wow! And I thought that we had the right "not to have to defend ourselves" in America. We are becoming what are ancestors were escaping.
