My heart goes out to all those who lost a loved one in this horrible shooting. I think security needs to be addressed for all schools. Here in North Manchester, Indiana they have installed camera's at every entrance. Vistors cant get into the school until they speak through an Intercom and look at the camera. All the students and staff are required to have ID Batches on them at all times. When everyone is in the class room all the doors are locked from the outside. They can still get out in case of an emergency because the inside of the doors open just cant open them from the outside. I think this was an excellent first step in securing our schools.

The problem with Gingrich argument is that we are a free society. Until the gun laws are enacted coast to coast; guns from unregulated areas will be taken into those that are. ie. Chicago area. What we need is less power in the hands of the paranoids in the gun lobby. Reps who have more than their own $$ as a motivation for being in congress. While it is true that people kill people; if people are free then the use of their toys–guns–needs to be regulated. We do so with cars, guns are not that different. Both kill in the wrong hands. I believe gun rights end where the right to live of others begin...

Today families of children that were killed in Newton, CT were upset because they did not have the chance to voice their opinion in today's meeting with the VP. I understand the tragedy and I do feel for the families and sympathize for their losses, yet as a 20 year U.S. Army veteran I have followed the law and have been educated in gun safety and am responsible with my firearms. When will the responsible law abiding gun owning citizen have an opportunity to hear their side of the gun debate story?
