On the second anniversary of her daughter’s death, Roxanna Green is honoring the young girl’s memory by fighting for gun regulation. At 9-years-old, Christina-Taylor was the youngest victim to die in the mass shooting rampage that also injured former Arizona Rep. Gabby Giffords.
Today Green appeared in an ad for Mayors Against Illegal Guns, addressing lawmakers and asking, “When will you find the courage to stand up to the gun lobby?” She speaks about the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary, relating the tragedy to her own experience as a mother who lost a child because of a deranged gunman.
Green and her husband believe in second amendment rights and own guns. What they want is stricter rules for background checks and a ban on “assault military-style weapons,” and “big capacity magazines.”
Anderson asks her if she believes political leaders are going to support those changes. Watch a preview of the interview and see more at 8 and 10 p.m. ET.

It is outrageous to allow Washington to give the excuse that they are too busy with other (economic) issues to be able to take on the gun lobby. They put us in these messes and they should either get us out of them or get out and let someone who isn't always running for re-election do their job.
As a matter of fact, I would prefer to re-elect someone who is willing to stick their neck out and come up with a solution, even if I disagree with them. At least they will take a chance.
My wife, a school teacher, suggested a very interesting solution for the problem of gun violence in the US. She believes that the gun violence could be reduced by helping identify disturbed children early in schools and treating them with physchological help. Educating children on the importance of ethics, morality and socialization is a key to helping them become healthy adults. By catching the obviously disturbed child before they become a deranged gun weilding adult is far overdue. It may take 10 to 15 years if this approach is used to calm the carnage, but trying to secure the 300 million plus guns in the country is impossible.
Great show, never forget ......
The 2nd amendment states "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." Operative word: Militia
Margaret Hoover, the blond Republican gun advocate on the show, said that the NRA represents their members not the gun industry. The NRA has around 4 million members. The last census numbers available say that there were 311,591,917 people in this county in Jul 2011. It doesn't seem to me that the NRA represents any significant amount of US citizens. Why should the be listened to?
Thank you I was just coming in with the statistic of total resident population 315, 085,000. NRA membership is so tiny at 4 million that they should have no political rights so who is the money behind them that politicians would actually listen to them?? Something fishy in DC.
As a Law Abiding gun owner. I have a question. What exactly is an Illegal gun? Law abiding gun owners do not own "Illegal Guns". Criminals, Thugs do! They steal them from us to do their dirty work. Ps I cant wit to election time. You libs are out the door. 80 million gun owner strong!
