I want to Thank you Anderson and Dr. Gupta for this segment. This past week my son, who has Asperger's, was called a killer in school by another student. Our family has been struggling to help him get past this. He doesn't want to go to school for fear someone else will say something...he is deeply hurt. I feel now more then ever we need to educate others on ASD. So Thank you again for getting the truth out there.
Has anyone discovered that Newtown used to be home to a wonderful mental health facility called Fairfield Hills Hospital. It was located at the top of the hill behind the high school. The buildings are all still there - it is beautiful - looks like a college campus. Too bad it was closed in 1995 - the shooter might have found the help he needed there.
lest they not treat the cancer with a band aid! Please do not overlook the fact this person was somewhat consumed with video games. It is not difficult to figure out that given his condition living his life through video games would definitely give him a sense of power, comfort and control over his life that he did not experience in the real world. Unfortunately he translated that into the real world presumably expecting the same result. People you need to wake up and take a look at what is put into the minds of kids and young adults. Have a look at these games. Do NOT tell me they do not affect a person and do not leave it out of this equation, even if only a piece of the puzzle it is a significant piece. I have witnessed it many times firsthand with my own kids and others! Be careful what you allow into your mind!
