Sen. Kelly Ayotte, one of the Republicans harshly critical of Ambassador Susan Rice, described Rice's initial characterization of the September 11, 2012 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya as misleading, but stopped short of calling the remarks intentionally so.
"Certainly she misled the American public," Ayotte said in an interview to run Tuesday on AC360. "I think that she would say that. She'd have to say that because she began our meeting today admitting that the representations about the video and the protests were wrong, and the impression left [for] the American people was misleading."
To the question of whether the comments were intentionally misleading, Ayotte continued, "I don't know that I am in a position to question [Rice's] motives, but its deeply troubling to me that someone of that important position would go on every major news network knowing that she had obviously previously reviewed other classified reports that left a different impression with the omission of the important reference to Al Qaeda."

this is actually a really big deal Robert!! why would she intentionally mislead people on this?
Does anyone really think that we should have give the terrorists a heads up that we would be coming for them? Typical GOP attack.
Senator Ayotte should spend more time serving her constituents in New Hampshire by taking a strong stand against the Northern Pass project and not just hiding behind a couple of politically savvy questions asking about transparency of the process. This witch trial is a waste of time and more important things need to be accomplished. Did the Republicans learn anything from the presidential election?
By Rice misleading the American people with the talk show talking points while at the same time politically defusing the American people to the real crisis at hand, NOBODY seems to care about the fact that an Ambassador was killed. This administration is 'hell bent' on creating a relatively calm environment here and abroad regarding terrorism to create the impression that the world is safer under Obama's leadership.
Hey Anderson, go over and listen to Maddow's program tonight. She hit the nail on the head.
"To keep them honest," try airing the story of the FL Republican Party's concerted effort to suppress the votes of Democratic leaning voters.
I am getting really tired of this constant harping on the way the administration relayed info on Benghazi! What is the BIG Fing deal?! She said "at this time..." There appears to be a national security element to this & someone like sore loser Mccain & Graham should stop trying to make politicall hay out of this. They, & Ayott (how much experience does she have?) just can't get over the fact that they got their clock sleaned.
Anderson, I am begininhg lose my attraction to your show. To me, this is past the point of being rediculous – every night you trot out Mccain & big neck lady who worked @ Homeland Security for Pres. Bush.. This is as much of a turnoff as when you kept trotting out Trump w/ his birther nonsense . He played you like a fiddle, & now they are too. If you really want "keep them honest," find some other news – there's pelnty of it out there.
Why is CNN constantly giving these senators who do nothing but politicize this issue time. What are Kelly Ayotte's foreign policy expertise? None. And as for McCain and Graham been right about any foreign policy issue? Never. Remember WMD? Remember the Iraqi's would great us as heros? Remember the Iraqi war would be brief and easy? Remember Georgia? They all said that. Remember their politicizing Libya? Egypt? Syria? Has there been a war they didn't want to get in to? I wish CNN would hold these individuals responsible for their continuing inaccurate views. CNN just loses credibility when they let the McCain Group talk on and on without "keeping them honest."
Witch hunt for now reason but i digress lets see what comes from this
