The Red Cross has received $117M for victims of storm Sandy. I would like to know why they can't provide individuals without power with a generator that is filled with gas along with a 5 gal gas can also filled with gas. I believe this would be very helpful to these poor people.

I understand that people are cold and need electric but there was SO Many Homes without and water everywhere. It can be unsafe to turn it on unless they KNOW those homes eclectrical system is ok and won't start a fire and or have someone step in water and get electricuted as has already happened how can they just turn it on with out going house to house to make sure its OK and SAFE and the many many houses without Why don't someone bring these people safe heaters and lanterns so they can at least have one room in their home thats warm and put porta pots on streets
