Here's the Republican Party's way forward: Listen only to yourself. Attack your opponents any way you can, regardless of propriety or accuracy. Insist on protecting the rich and the business community above all else. Appeal to white Christian males with poor education and low incomes. Demonize the different - gays, other races, Muslims, and gays again. That moves you into the America of the 21st Century. That's how you win.

People knew that Mitt Romney would Ba(i)nkrupt the country with his 1% policy. That was why the 47%ers voted him out

I wish the media would stop making this win a racial/ethnic victory for Romney's 47%. The fact is that the demographic are changing. Many "minority" young adults are second generation, well educated, upwardly mobile children of immigrants, who are struggling to reach the American Dream. Its also about anyone who didn't have parents who could pay there way through college or even "get a loan" from their parents. Its about people who have worked all their lives but became ill or lost a job and now were denied medical care because of a pre-existing illness.

Republican's in the House need to consider the will of the American people, and stand beside this president that is doing his best to address this nation’s debt crisis. And constantly bring up someone else’s half-baked policy, simply because it alone forces a degree of compromise, isn’t going to be seen as them really trying to work with the president that the American people just elected. Instead they risk hurting the image of the entire party even further, because they would still be ignoring the wishes of the American people. This is to give this president the room that he needs to try out his plans and policies that he feels strongly would work.
