Tonight on AC360: Hero risked life in storm to save taxi driver
Jon Candelaria is being hailed as a hero for pulling a man out of rushing floodwaters during Superstorm Sandy. He did what most hope to have the courage to do in a life or death emergency.
The 25-year-old father was in his family’s Upper East Side apartment on Monday night when he looked out the window and saw an SUV taxi lifted by the powerful force of water beneath it. While his mother tried to reach 911 for help, Candelaria went to save the driver who was nearly drowning. The water was up to Candelaria’s chest, but he managed to pry open the door, with the driver’s help, just in time.
Neighbors witnessed the daring rescue. At 6-foot-5, Candelria carried the driver, who was about 5-foot-1, to safety.

Why don't Obama and Romney help out New York by sending them some of the millions of dollars that they waste each day on negative advertisments. It's so sad to see the amounts of money that their campaigns receive and the millions of people all over the US that could use that money. They waste more money everyday on campaigning and visiting different states than the average person could make in a life time. New York cancelled the marathon which should have been done days ago and maybe Obama and Romney could cancel their campaigns for a few days and help out the people in New York because they always say they want to help out the American people.
