Editor's note: Keeping Them Honest, Anderson Cooper is fact-checking the claims made in the debate, and we'll have expert analysis of the candidates' facial expressions and body language. Watch AC360 tonight at 8 and 10 p.m. ET.
Vice President Joe Biden and Republican Paul Ryan, the man who wants his job, exchanged fire over taxes, Medicare, national security and some animated facial expressions in their only debate before Election Day.
Here are five things we learned from Thursday night:
1. Biden brought it
We expected Ryan, not Biden to bring a three-ring binder full of facts and figures to the debate. It's not that the data-driven Ryan didn't show up with an arm full of his statistics; it is just that Biden did so as well.
And Biden's aggressive offense from the very beginning drowned out Ryan until about 45 minutes into the debate.

5 things I have learned from Romney and Ryan, is that fabrication can get you support . 2. That accusing your rival over something you are doing is a way of politics. 3. Honesty has no place in their lives 4. It's a disgrace to America that we are not outraged by the level of dishonesty of these GOP candidates 5. That Romney thinks we ain't worth a spit- just the 47%
The Republican/Tea Party, can not take the truth and only know how to cry!
Last night's debate was clearly an outpouring message from the Democratic Party that they have been and are on track with fiscal responsibility, foreign affairs and the American people. Never, since the Kennedy era, has a president brought together a world that is in such chaotic disorder like President Obama has. The world has a deep respect for President Obama and that matters. Wake up Americans do you really want the old rule back again? What were the Democrats handed from the Republican Party – nothing, not a thing but a damn shame!! A messed up economy, the United States sitting in a slumped position, absolutely no respect for American citizens on the world stage bordering on other people of the world hating Americans because of the bully tactics that the Republicans have always used amongst other countries that they claim they were helping but were many times mainly helping themselves. President Obama brought the United States of America, along with every one of you, back from that and that matters. Do you really want to start at the bottom with Mitt Romney and his very shaky and unsteady experience. It will take Romney two years just to know exactly what the job entails. It is no different than any American that gets a new job and has to figure it all out except this job is monumental. Obama has the emotional intelligence and past experience of what it takes to keep this country moving ahead. Sit Up,Take Notice and Wake Up America!!
