Ronald Reagan was one of the greatest debaters ever. In the 1980 debate he destroyed Jimmy Carter with his closing remarks:
Are you better of now then you were 4 years ago. With that summaton Jimmy Carter was finished.
Bull! He "won" the first (and only) debate with Carter because the Reagan camp got ahold of leaked information regarding Carter's debate strategies. In his first debate with Walter Mondale four years later, Mondale was the clear winner.
