Elected county Judge Tom Head is stirring up controversy in Lubbock, Texas. Judge Head made comments which were broadcast by CNN affiliate KJTV. Head claimed that after re-election President Obama '...is going to try to hand over the sovereignty of the United States to the U.N.,' he continued on to say 'I'm thinking worst case scenario now. I'm talking civil unrest, civil disobedience, civil war, maybe...'
Afterwards, at a county commissioner meeting, Head explained his remarks by saying 'I don't think those things that I mentioned yesterday are going to happen.'
Judge Head is also the county's emergency management director. He continued to defend the comments at the public meeting ... 'Worst case scenario, U.N. comes in and does all their stuff, ok, that's probably not gonna happen, ok? But I have to prepare for it. Worst case scenario we probably won't have an F-5 tornado coming through Lubbock, but if it happens, we gotta be ready for it.'
Texas Democrats are calling for his resignation. CNN's Ed Lavandera reports.

Comments like Judge Head's make me wish that Molly Ivins was still alive to write about them.
This another example of how this country is headed. The state of texas is rebounding from an election defeat of Gov. Perrys Lt. Gov.in his defeat by Senate Elect Tony Cruz. A spanish speaking well educated Texas elected official. Senator elect Tony Cruz reflects an intense and inevitable course of events that will eventually meet head on the desperate and racist injustice directed to spanish speaking people in the United States. Judge Head is simply an example of that injustice. Nothing more needs to said. "porque somos" Albert J. Wilson
I apologize in his place for his comments, which I honestly do not expect from a person holding his profession and position. I am speechless.
If Obama would allow it the judge may be right. The simple fact is that it would never happen based on exactly what this Texan was talking about.
Proved his whole argument wrong.
