Such comments by anyone in American government, and from the White House in particular, are irresponsible and inflammatory. They show anything from lack of clear thought to a real lack of judgement and principle. It is not what we look for in our leaders and any attempt at a scripted, lame, "day after" deniability is universally disavowed as it should be. Where are the courageous, respectful, adult leaders of this great nation? Where are we exhibiting American courage and responsibility? American citizens are disgusted with this type of failure in leadership and the excessive lifetime benefits that often accompany it. We expect more from the best of our best and the world does also. The GOP, of which I am a member, would do well to just let such comments find their own grammatical garbage bin. It won't take long.
Propaganda...plain and simple. Most of it coming from both sides of the isle consists of untruths. These politicians are all self serving and not much else. If you believe any different, you have been fooled.
Do not be fooled by the Republicans. They feel that they can't beat Obama/biden with 2 sick horses and decide to devide the Democrats
Comments like "i'm a minority, and the republicans will keep us in chains" are sacry. they are also indicative of a lack of historical knowledge. the fact is that Democrats tried to defeat civil rights laws while republicans pushed them through. what really keeps people in chains, are entitlement programs and it's effect on incentive to accomplish. That is exactly what the democrats count on.
It's really the Dems who are keeping every one in chains, turning us all into serfs of the Social state, growing Welfare so much that eventually, that the only income anyone will ever have. The more regulations they use to strangle business, the more they blame the Free Market for every problem that in reality is cause by unintended consequences of over-regulation. And just like the former Soviet Union, under the crushing weight of Socialism, the US will eventually implode.
Say anything you want Joe. You just keep convincing more and more people that you don't deserve to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency. What a gift to the GOP Biden is.
i agree 100 %
As a minority and one of the 99 percent, I say yes the Republicans Will keep us in chains!
You don't see the oxymoron in your statement?
Here, let me help. If you are one of the 99%, are you a minority or the majority?
I know, I know. You want your cake and eat it too. You want to represent everyone but the evil rich, and want to claim some manner of victimhood at the same time.
Remarks made by our sitting V.President of the United States of America, Joe Biden.....Shame On You Mr. V.President!
With a country so divided on so many issues why would you put fuel on a fire. Is it to late for Pres. Obama to pick another running mate???
Come on people, Vice President Biden didn't mean just that room would be put in chains... we all will be put back in chains if Romney is elected. Ryan is no issue, it is the man who can lie at the drop of a hat that we need to worry about.
Biden the master of planned gaffe: He came toBeaver County, PA during the last campaign and screemed wildly about his dad and his history w/steel mills when we had NO steel industry, it had long since died. Ours was a need for new industry, not to pander about history. He was oblivious to the tact the crowd was made up of folks who barely remembered the mills!!! Move on Joe; your rocking chair awaits!!!
And on and on and on. Just a bunch a big babies. Get over it and grow up!
Who gives a good G'dned what words some one is using...un-chaned, un-schackeld, un-leashed. It seems that is the new group of words thrown out there because they cannot bring themselves to say freedom from. I cannot believe that the Republicans are throwing a fit about this, because it seems that they the ones that have "coined" these phrasings in everything they seem to have to talk about.
As Sam Stein of The Huffington Post notes, Rick Santorum criticized the Obama ... by warning, “They will put you in chains called 'Obamacare,' and you will never break away.
I am not American. Therefore I may not get the difference between chain and shackle – although I am aware of Americas history of slavery. But here is something I strongly want to respond to: The news media, the people and myself always want politicians to be as clear as possible and to provide specifics about their plans and numbers. On the other hand Binden is "executed" (here is a strong expression) for using a single word. I can understand everyone if this makes him or her careful about what they say and to avoid the specifics.
Since the latest crash a lot of people have lost everything. They now have to find work and work harder than everyone before to pay back their debt. Regarding what those people have to give up to simply feed their family, the allusion to slavery does not seem so far fetched to me. Furthermore Biden is always popularized for using strong, direct words, but CNN changes the mood of their reports with the wind. Thank you Joe Biden for not apologizing! Obama has been the best president I have known, his plans are exemplary and he should be president for four more years!
Don't see how a "non American" (who writes with such great flow) would be in a position to know who should be a US President for 4 more years? Tell us your country, and we will all give you our expert opinion who is best for you. I'd say, become an American and then your vote/opinion here would actually count. That's the American way, sorry Marian.
When I think about Joe Biden's position, it scares me to think he is #2. Where is Hillary when she is needed most<
Agreed, except I am an American and Nov. 6th can't come soon enough!
Thank you for an honest appraisal of the situation. I am so tired of the false outrage that keeps showing up in the response to so many of these situations. People need to get a hold of themselves and look at what is going on instead of constantly whining about who says what. The fact is the economy IS getting better and has too just to keep going, so Obama has been effective. All anyone has to do is look around. Putting some Millionaire in the office will not help anyone. It's just a game to him to be something he has no right to be. You cannot buy everything you want!
I could not have said it better myself thank you for saying what needs to be said. The republicans blatantly tell mistruths or intentionally lie on a daily basis in expensive commercials run in primetime, it has become their normal mode of operation. Biden did not lie he just told the truth and used a single word that very well describes the cold hard truth about how a huge number of people feel.
