RidicuList: Miss USA Pageant

The Miss USA pageant sashays onto the RidicuList, but not for the reasons you might think.

    I think it is cruel to bring this up again and again. This girl was very nervous and inarticulate, probably because she had never thought about the issue. Remember this is the teen contest. She is still a kid, even though society likes to parade her around as an adult. You may say that it is her fault that she entered, but you can say that about some presidential candidates and we all know a vice-presidential one who gave almost as incoherrent a reply. Anderson, it might be a slow news day, but how is what you did any different from bullying. Isn't this like teasing a kid who made one mistake throught his/her school life? I can understand it if someone like Howard Stern brings this up. But since you claim to be a journalist, you should have better standards.

    Well Anderson, Miss USA is not about beauty or intelligence. It's about making profits for Mr. Trump and people around him. I worked for the pageant behind the scenes on several occasions and saw first hand how those girls are treated, what goes on and why things are the way they are. It's a nice money making business that will not go away.

    the problem with this country is very simple.most of this girls r always in pageant shows and no books,being latin or not wich latin is the wrong way to describe us we r spanish women with morals not everyone is the same .this is not about any country unfurtunaly is all type of women there on the streets blond black chinise. to much , but the men is the one who is responsible somehow they always looking for the weak one

    This poor girl is the poster child for the state of education in this country. By third or fourth grade a child should be capable of giving a reasonable answer. Anyway: this is not her fault. People will remember her because of her beauty - but she's now embarrassed for life. Just please stop showing this. Or maybe donate some bucks and get her a tutor?

    It's gotten very much out of control. Not just the so-called beauty pagents, they've always been a joke. It's these faux reporters and journalist that think their opinions actually matters. Far too many people in the world will watch any mind-numbing crap on TV, with no discernment as to quality. Smarter people know these pagents are trash, and AC whining about it isn't going to fix anything.

    I watched this year for the first time in 25 years for one reason: To see some really good looking young women in bikinis. I have no idea what anyone actually said, because the sound was off, and I listened to music of my choice.

    i have lived in 6 countries, speak fluently 6 languages and was born in switzerland. i have lived here on and off since 65. my comments is concerning the 2007 south carolina. the answer was politically correct but the real answer is that since birth all you ever hear in the us is "this is greatest country in the world". quite frankly, a large percentage of americans just do not give a hoot abuut any of the other countries and neither about any ohter language. no interest. that's all!

    We agree with your Mr.Cooper 1000% All the Latinamerican Women from Up here!!!!!! 10)Reasons why this is SO TRUE! 10*-Many Women participate in many of this pageant a/or shows to better themselves financially, but Lo and behold end up being -so sort of "Lapp dog to Mr.Trump and his slymmy buddies...." 9*- All over Venezuela and Latinamerica we know so well that young, innocent(many physically virgins) go into this shows then by the time they go to the finals not only have desacrated their virginities, but end up working in the Dirty industries (lapp dancing, table stripping,etc) all because they need to pay for expensively outrageous surgeries from Head to toes -so much so that many of these farm a/or naive girls not even their own Parents will recognize them on the ramp ways, but most of all at the local Morges where they end up when they are not longer desirables, have too many venerial diseases or they demand Too Much! .....................
