Tonight on AC360: Sen. Lieberman: al-Assad can't be trusted

Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad broke his promise to withdraw troops from major cities today. The U.N. cease-fire proposal was negotiated with the help of Kofi Annan two weeks ago.

Instead, deadly attacks at the hands of government forces have escalated in the past few days. Senators McCain and Lieberman say they no longer believe a diplomatic solution will end the massacre. They spoke with Anderson Cooper from a Syrian refugee camp in Turkey.

"I think it's very obvious they've been played," said Sen. McCain when asked if al-Assad has deceived the U.N. Sen. Lieberman brought up the option of providing weapons to the activists. "They're running out of ammunition. They don't have bullets and they’re being fired at every day so I think the answer is that we've got to arm the Syrian opposition," he said.

Watch the preview and see the complete interview tonight at 8 and 10 p.m. ET on AC360°.

just a thought, cause i can't stay quite anymore : Mrs clinton keep telling us how concerned she is about what 's happening in Syria for the past year , and yet nothing was done to stop that animal "Bashar " (my apology to animals cause they don't deserve that) , that dictator ,morron ,devil , i don't know what to call him anymore , from killing childrens , women and men every minute , they keep giving him days after days after days to stop and hoping he does , this is a joke and as a lebanese-canadian i don't believe this idiot should stay in power on more hour and the united states should do something as of yesterday , cause i believe they are the only ones who can, and keep politics to another situation cause we are starting to believe what anti-americans say that : "united sates only does what is best for them " i do not believe that yet , i think they do what's best for them but care to help people who needs theire help , God gave you power to be beside the poor and the people who are being destroyed with dectatorship . Regards
