Did any bullets pass through the victim?
Were any wound entries on the front of the victim?
Did crime scene investigators look for evidence of bullets fired from the gun that struck the ground?
    Did they find any?

The answers to these questions could result in the following conclusions.

    1. Yes, yes, yes, yes. The shooter could have been on top of the victim at the time of the shooting; broken nose and all.
    2. Yes, yes, yes, no. The victim could have been on top of shooter at the time of the shooting; breaking noses and all.
    3. Yes/No, no, yes, no. The shooter could have been on top of the victim at the time of the shooting; broken nose and all.

Blacks need to be making speeches to their own race about how to act when you are questioned from a cop, a neighborhood watch, or any one of authority. That if you are questioned by cops, or even an everyday citizen, be polite and respectful and whatever you do, DO NOT RUN! If the majority of blacks followed them simple rules of common civility, there would be countless less blacks shot/beat up by law enforcment. Does anyone really believe if Trayvon would hav simply politely told Zimmerman what he was doing there, instead of running and then attacking him, that he wouldnt be alive today?

Nobody knows what happened when they met. Martin did not know who Zimmerman was. He could be a killer or pedophile or something else. Zimmerman is not a police man. Every child will resist attempts like this. For you to be saying that citizens should be polite and respectful does not even make sense. This was a rainy night with somebody following you.

Being in the EMS medical field if you are called out on a scene such as this and are treating a patient who has been in a fight. You treat that patient for his wounds/injuries. If the wounds/injuries are not life threatening and the person is Alert and oriented to (person, place, time, etc) answers all your assessment question appropriately, then at that point the patient is in control of his/her treatment. And by that I mean they have the decision of if they wish to be checked out and undergo further assessment/treatment by an MD (doctor). If they feel that their injuries do not warrant that then they decline, sign a refusal for (according to that EMS service or counties Standard Operating Procedure) and they are then released into the custody of the Arresting Officer.
Now to the common sense part. You can easily clean up his alleged wounds and release him into custody. Cotton swabs in the nose, abrasions from cement do not bleed extensively. Open gashes do of course (which would warrant a trip to the ER and probable stitches). Blood stains on a red jacket at 300pix is not reliable.
You need to stop speculating this man's injuries, the medical files are evidence and due to HIPA laws which protect our medical files, will not be released until the go to Grand Jury and have been submitted as evidence.

I'm all for prosecuting this man to the fullest extent of the law if he MURDERED that young man. But let the evidence be given the light of day in court. Quit buzzing over this, getting all worked up, and convicting someone of a crime before they are even arraigned. I know there are other things on tv. Go outside, take a walk, read a book. Occupy your time with something else.

I've had a severe concussion, where I hit my head on the cement at about 30MPH ... it did NOT break the skin or bleed. Words cannot describe exactly how intense this experience was. I had a severe black eye that showed up a little bit the next day, then really became clear in the following days. I still say we don't know. A doctor has said the nose break wouldn't necessarily mean bleeding. I say this all only to point out BOTH sides, not just one ... which seems to be the order of the day.

Zimmerman's injuries, or the lack thereof, are irrelevant to the fact that he pursued Trayvon Martin when he did not have to do so and against the advice of the dispatcher. They are also irrelevant to the fact that he was looking for trouble by virtue of his being Neighborhood Watch Captain and his 46 previous calls to 911. Zimmerman was looking for trouble. He cannot now claim he was merely defending himself. I don't care about his injuries.

To me it's simple. If George Zimmerman didn't have relatives in high places like his father whom most of us know is a retired Judge he wouldn't be getting off so easy. Well then again we are talking about the State of Florida. It seems to me that in that State people can literally get away with murder. I have always said that what Zimmerman said had happened didn't add up. I hope that someone with common sense in a position to seek justice will step up to the plate and arrest that cold-blooded murderer George Zimmerman. If I were the parent of this murderer I would encourage him to turn himself in. If he didn't on his own I would turn him in myself. As parents they should sympathize with the parents of the victim. How would they have felt if their son would have been killed? Wouldn't they want the murderer held accountable???

i believe it was covered up from the begining especially not that i know his father is a retired judge. his father probably call the chief and told him his son got in a liltte trouble, see if you can keep this quiet. nothng he says makes sense. if he got beat so bad where is the evidenc. the vidoe is clear to mea just like the voice saying coon could be heard i hate to compare but just like i saw rodney king get beat down and in the end the police said he was trying to get away..with the beating he took he would have ran and taken his chance with getting shot in the back

i agree why were the officers not wearing gloves??? did they allow him to change clothes, because i do not see any blood on grass stains on his shirt from a broken nose or a scuffle....i know that the video is not very clear but its clear to me that he doesn't have blood on his shirt. another thing is alot of people said that he asked trayvon what are you doing here....how do we know he didn't answer him...trayvon is not here to tell his story. also didn't trayvon have a "stand your ground right" to be in the neighborhood where his father was and a right not to answer someone who had been clearly following him from the 911 tapes???? i wouldn't answer...especially if the person didn't identify himself to me as a neighborhood watch person.....

get an expert who is not famous for failing - broken noses do not always spurt blood what mediczl school did she go to

the nose has alot of vasculature. It would make since that it would bleed if the bone was broken. Maybe Zimmerman felft like his nose was broken. It might have even been swollen, but probably not broken. And if he had a gash to his head where's the bandage to cover it. Officers don't write their reports until later, they could have added any detail they wanted.

Correction to my initial post; If Mr. Zimmerman was taken to the police station so quickly and the video is clear.

    Anderson,
If Mr. Anderson was taken to the police station so quickly and the video is clear. According to the new witness's account that the altercation was in the dark, when it was raining, in the grass. WHY are Mr. Zimmerman's clothes not grass stained; or muddy; or do not even appear to be wet from the rain?

My heart goes out to Trayvon's last moments of his life, I pray that his parent's will have peace of heart or peace of mind.

I wouldn't doubt if the Police Chief retired on a very large Payoff.

Hi Anderson....I sent you an e-mail about 10 days ago regarding this case. I had mentioned I lived in Central FL, about 1/2 hour from Sanford, FL, and had been a victim on tooooo many occasions. I posted this afternoon, that something stinks like dead fish over in Sanford. After watching your program tonight, it stinks like poison. After my own experiences, I call it PASSING THE BUCK.

I have had a broken nose and my 3 boys have had numerous cuts/stitches to the face/head due to sports. There would be
so much blood on his shirt, pants, etc. I remember specifically asking the doctor in the ER about the amount of blood and he commented that the face is one of the places that bleeds the most. It doesn't necessary mean its "bad",..but that your head
bleeds like "a stuck pig"! If it was as bad as Zimmerman said, why was there not a band-aid or any sign of wound? Why wasn't he holding a kleenex, ice or something to his nose or head? And why did he just hop out of the police car...he is walking perfectly normal and doesn't seem to be "distraught", as his family has said. Also, did they take Zimmermans clothes to check for blood, gun residue, etc. It looks like he's still wearing them. Unfortunately, if they didn't' take his clothes, there will be no way to conclusively prove that he was the aggressor.

Why are the media (Anderson Cooper, Pearce Morgan, etc) playing lawyer.? They are not lawyers and they should not be questioning potential witnesses the way they are. They should be reporting the news and new developments in the story, period. In the end they could put the prosecution's case in jeopardy with all their amateur interrogations of possible witnesses. They need to stop! They could be helping Zimmerman's case and it's irresponsible.

Listening to the comments of this latest witness, I would say that since he saw Mr. Zimmermen getting up off of the person who was shot and that the person shot was face down it follows that Mr. Zimmerman shot him and that since the boy was face down he was definitely the subject of aggression and not the aggressor.

Wouldn't the police take pictures of Zimmerman's so called injuries for evidence?

    March 29, 2012 at 8:18 pm |
  20. Linda

The questioning about the video with Zimmerman is ridiculous. Trayvon would be alive if Zimmerman had NOT followed him. I would assume that Trayvon knew he was being followed and probably defended himself. However, if Zimmerman had mined his own business, Trayvon would still be alive.

The video is not that grainy. You will have blood all over you if you just had your nose broken. There is no blood on the back of the shirt from being hit in the back of the head and there is not blood on front of the shirt from getting hit in the nose and having your nose broken. You will bleed on yourself and the person you are fighting with if you are bleeding because the blood has to come down from your nose. If you are getting beat up (George was) the blood would splatter every where.

If Zimmerman was injured as he is claiming, why weren't pictures taken of his injuries by authorities? Certainly if you claiming self defense for shooting a person you would want pictures taken of your injuries to support your claims wouldn't you? Again doesn't measure up. The evidence does not corroborate his story.

George Zimmerman is the son of retired Virginia Supreme Court Magistrate, Judge Robert Zimmerman.

George has a history of legal and behavior problems. The father lives in Lake Mary, an easy drive from Sanford. Certainly, the now-on-leave police chief and the state's attorney know the father, and their replacements could also know him. Police chief and state's attorney overruled the lead investigator and attempted to dismiss this murder as "self defense" on the night it occurred, without investigating.

From the time the story broke in the news, I kept thinking Zimmerman is "connected" to someone. Nothing about what happened the night of Trayvon's murder made sense until I discovered who his father is.

Why is no one talking about this? It's obviously the key to misconduct by the police and the state's attorney.

I know that I would punch a guy that came after me with a gun. Poor Trayvon must have been very much afraid.

Shouldn't the "Stand Your Ground" law apply to Trayvon Martin in this case? Doesn't he have the right under this law to stand his ground when he found George Zimmerman following him? All the discussion I have been hearing is about George Zimmerman standing his ground if he feared for his life.

So, if Zimmerman was bleeding, from his nose or any injury why the officers not using gloves ????

    March 29, 2012 at 1:18 am |
    • Stephanie Mitchell

I thought the same thing when I noticed the "Sanford" police were touching him with no gloves it was apparent that no bodly harm was done, I thought that Trayvon had beaten him bloody and that he was on a strecher..........Not the case. At the end Zimmerman lies and deception with come out.....

If Zimmerman had any blood on him at all when he arrived at the police station, those cops would have been wearing gloves. There's no way they would touch someone with blood on them without protecting themselves.
