The Doctor talks about addiction, especially to Rx meds (pain killers). I feel the medical society itself is to blame. I know a dozen people that are prescribed 100's of these pills every month, these people do not need that many pills. I know this because they are all selling the majority of them. Everywhere you turn someone is selling percs or oxy. Unless someone does something soon an entire gereration will be addicts. Doctors that prescribe this stuff should be monitered as well as their patients monitered by blood tests to see if hte patient is actually taking their medsand by being called in for pill counts to ensure they themselves aren't overdoing it or selling their meds to others. A script of painkillers can be had for as little as 10 dollars, gee lets say your doc dives you 100 pills a month that costs 10 bucks, lets say you are prescribed 10mg pain killers that the going rate is 7.50 a pill humm... thats 750 dollars minus the 10 that was paid to the phramacy and gee You get a nice tidy 740.00 dollars, tax free I may add, that month. I think we should all go to the Doc and cry our toes hurt so we can get very addictive painkillers to sell to our friends and loved ones. THE DOCTORS ARE TO BLAME

I hear the family say Whitney was no longer an addict. Once an addict always an addict.

I am appalled at the industry for not intervening on her behalf. Everyone is saying they prayed for her or they watched from afar while she spiraled down with drug and alcohol additciton. I belive they just wanted a story to bring her (or as in other situations-any other star) down. Why wouldn't/couldn't all of the influencial people in her life and in the industry step in and attempt to save her from herself. We all have experienced the addict and their life. It's time to take steps to help them no matter what their age or status. A Reverand said that he prayed for her and watched and hoped for the best as she spiraled downward. Why is society afraid of dealing with addiction or any other mental illness in order to bring health and wellness to the entire body and family.

It's too bad Ms. Price is so start struck that she apparently does not know the definition of sober. During her interview with AC in one sentence she claims Ms. Houston was sober, and then remarked that "like everyone", Ms. Houston was drinking champagne. It's obvious from the tape and the pics that Ms. Houston is not in a "sober" state. She claims shes from the projects, so she would know if someone is high. Yet she denies all of it. Is that like doing "project duty?" In addition, we know Ms. Houston was using prescription drugs around that time, and the two do not mix. Does anyone go to school anymore? It's just sad for Bobbi Krisitina, who has grown up in a world of denial with no real parents or grandparents. Apparently no one around this woman had the balls to set reasonable boundaries, and let her deal with natural consequences., and unfortuantley that effects other peoples lives. What's more important..God? Jesus? Money? I just can't figure it out....

A lot of people want to blame Bobby for her addictions, but Whitney grew up in the church as well as around drugs. We all have a choice. Bobby is hurt just as much as any of us. What we should focus on is the gift that was given to us by God through her voice and celebrate her life...the good times. Secondly, Hollywood, money and the life of these stars have access to so much evil stuff that we laugh and make fun of it in one breath, but then when someone passes, we act like we care. The laughing games should have never begun. The demon of drug addiction is killing our children and the ones we love, but it doesn't hit us until it's too late. Possibly, Whitney was tired and wanted to go...I hope not, but that is a thought as well...Whitney, we love you...I love you! Regardless of the sin, you are a sister in Christ and I pray for your family. God bless!

Whitney Houston so obviously suffered from bipolar 1 disorder – rapid speech patterns, erratic behavior. Why do we in the US just dismiss and ignore mental illness? Addiction is often just a comorbid disorder. Mental illness is never addressed in our culture. It is something the media really needs to investigate and bring to the forefront of mass attention.
