I will no longer purchase anything with his name on it. He is not a nice man.
We have Metro in Canada too. Lady Gaga was a guest editor in Toronto last year. She was great. Karl Lagerfield is rude to everybody it seems. Adele is NOT fat. What a boring world it would be if we all came in the same shape, size and colour.
Well what about Beth Ditto? If I am not wrong, she used to be his muse...Adele is beautiful and talented woman and if we compare this two ladies...well, I dont know what is in his mind
So funny your story on Karl Lagerfeld...if you knew a bit more about French culture and the Parisians, you would know that his comment about Adele's weight is not unusual. I would not say his opinion is skewed because of his profession, but that he shares simular opinions of most Parisians.
As a general rule, you can sort of expect anyone into fashion to not be entirely in touch with the real world and it's also fairly reasonable to expect a certain level of insanity. Fashion is like the rabbit's hole, the farther you stick your head in, the more likely you are to lose your grasp and fall in and the deeper you go, the weirder it gets. The top people in fashion tend to be the very farthest down the rabbit hole. It's extremely good for the art of fashion, but it can take a toll ranging from public gaffes to truly tragic mental illness. I can understand and therefore I support Lagerfeld.
Anderson,
This whole thing with Lagerfeld and Adele is completely blown out of proportion! Lets be honest, Adele is overweight! Lagerfeld was not mean spirited in what he said, it was just the truth! I am sure if any overweight person takes offense to being call exactly that, then they are fooling themselves. For all of us to sugar coat someone being overweight is just enabling them and contributing to the potential health risk!
This is why I love Anderson. Kudos on exposing a perfect example of how ridiculous the obsession with body weight has become and showing the kind of nitwits who perpetuates the stereotype for what they.
In your criticism of Lagerfeld for calling Adele fat, you described fashion models as freakishly tall, freakishly skinny.
Lagerfeld didn't call Adele freakishly fat.
Seems inconsistent for you to feel free to attack the body shape of models if you are crticising Lagerfeld for the same thing.
Wasn't your message suppose to be that we should be tolerant and accepting of all body shapes and focus on people's talents?
