The Syrian regime says life in Homs is normal, but the pictures and reports tell a much different story. In an emotional interview, Syrian activist Zaidoun gives voice to a reality of death and destruction.

Why isn't the world dealing with this...another Holocaust (literally)? Russia are not going to do anything or don't care...as they have already taken sides with Assad for the money & arm deals. It's about time we stopped reporting on this slaughter & started reporting on our efforts to step in & do something. Call Russia's bluff...as least Kennedy in the "Bay of Pigs" scenario did so. We can't let this go on, or you'll see it in every despot country from now on. Assad is a coward & a murderer & he should be told that & that the world or someone is coming to stop this slaughter of the innocents & put him on trial. Let's act like a caring world & not an inhumane one – just looking on.
As for Russia & China the more they let this continue in their name, (they will be reviled for ever) & drowned in innocent Syrian blood.
First of all, I enjoy your show and all CNN programming a lot. But I want to do some of the "keeping them honest" thing
It's been in the news the situation in Syria and about the 6K+ kills since last March and all that coverage in the middle east conflicts, which, although they're important, there are far more important things to cover in regards of foreign policy and armed conflicts around the world
Let's not go very far, let's just take Mexico and the situation with the drug cartels
As CNN reported it in 01/11/12, around 13K people were killed by the hands of organized crime in the first 3 quarters of 2011 alone! During the present administration, close to 50K people have been kiled by organized crime, and those are just the official numbers!
So, question is, why is there a lot more coverage on conflicts in the middle east? Is it because is a sexier story? Or because there are more US interests in the middle east than there are in Mexico and Latin America? Or is it because of terrorism?
Think it twice. Mexico is the main commercial partner America has. Mexico has a geographical position that is more threatening that the middle east. All that violence can jump the border at any time. These organizations may also have links with other organizations threating our country. And so many other reasons why there should be more coverage by the American media
Is it because liberty ideals are being violated there and they want to freely elect their leaders as it happened in other middle east countries?
Well, in Mexico, organized crime has the population in the same state. Universal rights there are overruled by their agendas. Yes they can go to vote, but they have to do it for certain parties/candidates if they don't want to get threaten. Also, corruption is everywhere
Or is it really a matter of natural resources that drives this attention (question nobody wants to ask maybe)?
So the question remains the same: why?

Why did we help Libyans and not the Syrians? Because of China and Russia? Everytime these kinds of things happen, afterwards everyone says, "How did this happen? Why did noone step in?" We are watching it happen on TV, the internet – there is no excuse. Are we going to move towards a world where these things are not tolerated or are we going to continue as always? We are the strongest country in the world. Let's act like it. There are many options.
Praying? I am not sure what kind of God is going to listen to this murderer's prayer. He needs to be captured and face his people. Why do we let this happen again and again all over Asia, Middle East and Africa?
Yeah, good luck with the United Nations thingie!
I believe the United Nations should revisit their charter to revise the level of veto power any one country should control. Not all countries have veto power and should have more bargaining power than that dictated by veto. Without revision, the United Nations will remain ineffective. With the global population at 7 billion and recent adverse environmental conditions creating food shortages, we need more social exchange and cohesion now more than ever. No country is immune and It will take the whole world together to solve
these mounting problems.
Thank you so much Anderson for covering the atrocities of the brutal regime of Syria. I wish other network would spend a fraction of their time showing some of the mass genocide underway under an international licence and total impunity to a terrorist regime.
Even among Hitler's regime, there were many of his army leaders who questioned him and wanted to overthrow him...Perhaps Egypt would have fared better with a planned coup d'état...perhaps within the Syrian army, there are those questioning Assad...find them and help them...
